written by Quincy Taylor

Skills, Hardwork, Support Team, are usually the words to describe some of the best djs, and also a knack of picking out and hearing new talent. Its some of the things that set good djs apart from great djs, There been a great music scene coming from down in Southern Ohio, Especially coming from the 513 area code. A great blend of talent, lyrical skills, melodies give Cincy what it needs to be in the music forefront, Lets take a minute to get to know the man pushing the 513 into the front of the line to represent the midwest.

SMM: How long have you been spinnin?
DJ Drizzle: i have been spinning since i was in middle school doing house partys which led to me spinning on the club scene. i took a break in high school to focus on sports so i would say seriously 6years

SMM: Are you a rapper turned Dj or youve always wanted to be a DJ?
Drizzle: never been a rapper always wanted to be a dj i love the power of being a dj.

SMM: Just checking into the 513 music scene, who are some of your favorite artist?
Drizzle: my favorites would have to be khadijah, blackjackk, beat gang, young dunny, and black rain

SMM: What are some of your favorite songs coming from Cincy to play?
Drizzle: right now it would have to be beat gang they have a dance to there song mr miyagi that has got the whole city doing the dance but u can never go wrong wit cross- sal sal and tonka's-down the way

SMM: What do you feel is missing to take your city to the next level?
Drizzle: nobody wants to listen they think they know everything but nothing really makes it out of the 275 loop around the city. so i would say putting they ego's too the side is whats missing.

SMM: How do you feel about the mixtape game?
Drizzle: its over saturated i see these local djsand artist tryna do they own mixtapes and getting 100-300 listens on websites. nobody was doing mixtapes in the city that's what got my name outside the city i use it as a promo tool and i think some of these fake djs are messing the game up.

SMM: How did you link up with the Hittmenn DJs?
Drizzle: judy jones hooked it up 4 me i had hit greg street up on myspace one time to see how i could be in the crew and never got a respond. so i pursued the core dj's which never even looked my way because dj dimepiece had to vouch for me which never happened even dj skno from dayton tried but it was all on dimepiece.. so i ran into judy jones one day and told her how the doors wouldnt open for me because i wasnt in a crew and i told her i wanted to be a hittmenn she made a call and next thing i know kaspa the hittmenn pres called me told me to send him some mixtapes and its been on since then.

SMM: What was the turning point when u decided to pursue dj as a profession?
Drizzle: when my boy wanted to open a club i told him ill be the dj and that i had dj'd before so i went out bought the equipment and havnt looked back since

SMM: Weve noticed that you travel alot, what have you noticed is the biggest difference out of town to your hometown?
Drizzle: out of town they have movements like the whole city supports local artist in the clubs and radio. i was in florida at the orlando classic they didnt play nothing but florida music all night long u will never see that in my city.

SMM: What are your top five songs to play in the club?
Drizzle: i havnt been in the club in a min but when i do dj im gonna play sal sal, gucci waisted, beat gang mr miyagi, wacka flocka-lets do it, oj juiceman-trap say aye

SMM: What are your plans for 2010?
Drizzle: im gonna get back in the clubs more in 2010. i went on the road to promote young dunny in 09

SMM:Any last words or shout outs?
Drizzle: i wanna give a shout out to judy jones cuz witout her i would still be a local dj. shout out to kaspa for opening the door for me and congo from ameer records, johhny from hushmoney, khadijah, kill will, and all my friends and family.
