SMM: How long have you been doing music Hodgie?
Hodgie Streets: Ive been doing it since 10 years old. Seriously since 14.

SMM: How did you get your start?
Hodgie Street: Me and my family were heavily influenced by all types of music, and my cousin bet me i couldn't make a better rap then him. I took the bet.

SMM: Whats your latest project and how has it been going?
Hodgie Street: My new mixtape, titkled "The Go In" with DJ Giovanny. I think it's really epic. The music is really different. Theres soulful records, rock records, hip hop, club etc. It features The Kickdrums, Gucci Mane, and a slew of other artists and producers.

SMM: Describe the Columbus Music Scene:
Hodgie Street: Its deep. There's a lot going on, and some acts are stand out acts. Only thing hurting it is the fact there is no radio play, period.

SMM: Has anyone ever broke national from the 614?
Hodgie Street: Yeah, Rashad of elevator music did his thing with Universal, you had Fatty koo (spelling), Bow Wow, and a list of producers.

SMM: I hear you work with alot of National Artist, who are they and how did that come about?
Hodgie Street: Well, ive worked with Freeway, Gucci Mane, Ray Cash, and Ginuwine to name a few. Freeway and Ray were cats i bumped into in Columbus and Cleveland and were cool dudes, Ginuwine tried to sign me a few different times, and Gucci was a right time and place type of situation. He;s a cool dude to.

SMM: Who are your top 5 artist of all time?
Hodgie Street: Big, Pac, Lauryn Hill, Jay-Z and me of course.

SMM: Do you remember writing your first rhyme and where was it?
Hodgie Street: I was in Syracuse, NY at my older cousins house, we made a bet on who could write the dopest joint. I was about 10

SMM: Who are some other artist on the comeup to look out for?
Hodgie Street: C-Nube, Supa Seals, Bonno, Fly Union, Kim Joyce, Zuri Hall, and Reese & Blaze to name a few

SMM: What is the most memorable show that youve done and why?
Hodgie Street: Probably the Newport music Hall in Columbus, the crowd was really personal and the lights were perfect. The sound was crazy and i put on an hour show. It was epic

SMM: What can Columbus do to take it to the next step for a national level?
Hodgie Street: Give local artist radio play, and stop hating on the next man. Crabs in a bucket syndrome.

SMM: Describe your music to Starmusic Media viewers and your process on making songs?
Hodgie Street: My music is real. It comes from the heart, and when i go into the booth, it's not to make a hit. I do me, and hope you all llike it.

SMM: Who are some of the producers that you work with on the new project?
Hodgie Street: The Kickdrums, B Banga, AU, Young Los, Sinatra, J-Fiya, Cris Siege, 9th Wonder to name a few.
