BIG J: The Return of Hip Hop

BIG J : THE RETURN OF HIP-HOP

August 24, 2010 (Toledo, Ohio) -- BIG J, a.k.a. Tha White Wonder, does what most refuse to do themselves in the music industry, be himself. A lower class, blue collar worker with burning passion for Hip-Hop. A carpenter by trade, BIG J works two jobs to support the pursuit of his dream. His most recent release, "Black Van Music", is due for release on Tuesday, August 31, 2010. With no mention of flashy jewelry or extravagant cars, "Black Van Music", is reminiscent of rappers past, where the emcee's mastering of his craft and allowing the listener to see the world through his eyes, outweighs following the trends in hopes of breaking into the mainstream. "Black Van Music" will be available locally in Toledo, Ohio at all Allied Record Exchanges and online at www.bigjthawhitewonder.com You can purchase his singles and ringtones on Itunes now.

"Hip-hop is supposed to uplift and create, to educate people on a larger level and to make a change." This quote by one of Hip-Hop's pioneers, Doug E. Fresh, describes Ohio's own, BIG J a.k.a. Tha White Wonder. Raised in the Polish Village on Toledo, Ohio's north side, he was heavily influenced by his surroundings. Growing up in a lower class family he often used writing as an escape from his reality. With a writing style that has been compared to the east coast rappers he grew up listening to, Nas, Jadakiss, and Jay-Z, it makes it easy for listeners who appreciate wordplay to respect his talents. His music creates a common ground for people from every walk of life to relate to, from the average working class to the unemployed striving to survive. In an industry where being different is looked down upon, BIG J looks to create music that will inspire change.

Included in this press release is the cover art for the project and the lead single, as well as links to two music videos from the project.

"Days Work" Music Video : http://vimeo.com/9612566

"Alcoholic" Music Video : http://vimeo.com/12366500
-- This video was inspired by real life events in which BIG J wished to show how Alcoholism destroys lives.
