Where Is The Talent?

In closing out the 2011 year and seeing what Cleveland had to offer as talent I've come to a conclusion.  There is no talent.  I'm not talking about performers who are established and making actual moves or some that have signed there deals.  I'm talking about wanna be's who have absolutely no talent whatsoever.  These are the performers who usually complain about having to pay a slot fee or think they are opening for some headliner when they really aren't.  Fact check, an true opener for a headliner goes on directly before the headliner.  Not 8pm on a side stage in a different room.  Anyone else before a headliner and true opening act is there to pay bills but also get the opportunity for a chance to perform on stage.  I can never understand why so many wanna be's complain about having to fork over money to perform.  It's simple guys, you don't have a crowd following or any type of fan base.  Why should a venue pay bills to cover your costs of performing when you bring in no crowd whatsoever?

If the artist is not complaining about paying for a slot fee then they are usually running there mouth about how much better they are then anyone else that performs in there said city.  The wanna be's are the first to say "Oh, he's wack!" or "My tracks are 100% better then any of his!"  Wake-up call, you are wrong.  If you call someone wack because they are making better ground then you, putting in the actual effort and bringing in a crowd to watch them perform, how can you make such a comment?  If your music was better then there's, then why are people downloading him and not you?  Why are people coming to his shows and not yours? And most important, how is he able to sell all of his tickets and you can't?  It doesn't matter what click you join, what network you network or what show you perform at.  In the end your music obviously isn't good enough for a mere 10 people to buy a ticket and come see you perform!

Now, you can say all you want that your not in it for the money, you do it for the love of music.  Ok, great, your music sounds like garbage, why make people try and LOVE your music when its sounds horrible?  To me this is a lie.  Most wanna be's have that dream of performing in front of someone from a label and seeing themselves on MTV.  It's a proven fact.  Now getting back to a typical wanna be show.  This is the type of artist who's music is garbage to begin with but when they get on stage there presence is even worse.  They stand in one spot or pace back and forth looking at the ground and never making eye contact with the crowd.  I get joy out of seeing a wanna be perform and when they begin there performance slowly and steadily the crowd backs away from the stage. This should be a huge eye opener for the wanna be.  You couldn't sell any tickets and now that you have your chance on stage, the people that came to see others perform are leaving the dance floor.  Common sense right?

Another problem I've located is the washed up wanna be.  Someone that has been in the game so long that they are in the same spot they were when they started.  These are usually the guys who use there name as a label just because they know a lot of people. They perform the same songs from 10 years ago and make promises to other wanna be's that are never kept.

In the end there are more wanna be's then actual performers who have talent and that's what hurts the industry the most.  The wanna be's need to stay off the stage and just promote there music online because the only thing they will ever be is an internet celebrity.  Now some can say they disagree with me about this whole situation, but the ones that disagree are usually the wanna be!  The others that disagree are in the same spot they were 10 years ago when they started there career.  And any others in disagreement are usually ones that have no clue about how the industry works yet claim they know everything but in the end are just a local celebrity.  I rest my case!
