Skent Dukes: Pardon My Movement

Not too many artist are blessed to be branded within a movement, they seems to come every five years. While others have gone on to superstardom, there seems to be a new movement coming from the midwest from a camp by the name of Hushmoney, and with its heavy street presence growing day by day, a stand out from the camp is the lyrical assassin by the name of Skent Dukes. Starmusic Media: What was your first experience within the music industry?Skent Dukes:my first real experience was recording in a "A" room studio on whats called a SSL board! I heard madonna recorded on the exact same one!! I was like Maynn this look like a spaceship!!

Starmusic Media: I recently googled Skent Dukes, and a song came up with Lil Flip, How did that come about?Skent Dukes: well Lil Flip had a hit single named I CAN DO THAT and Cleveland really latched on to the record, I was doin a album called GET IT RIGHT and the next thing i heard from my manager "J" was hey Skent you in the studio with Lil Flip tommorrow, get a song together! Thats how quick things roll around here. I really knew nothing about it. And shout out to Lil Flip he did that verse in one take!!

Starmusic Media: From your years in the industry, whats been the best lessoned learned?
Skent Dukes: This game is money vacuum!! (but we got a huge floor)

Starmusic Media: Its seems like the hard work is coming together, what are your plans for 2010?
Skent Dukes: SKENT DUKES EVERYWHERE IS MY MODEL! I AINT A KILLA VOL 3!!! small movie series, a album, and more videos! Professional and with my $200 flip cam! Im hood!

Starmusic Media: Who are your top 5 artist of all time?
Skent Dukes:KRS ONE, JAY Z, STONE (MY OLDER BROTHER he's crazy), FABOLOUS, SNOOP, AND

Starmusic Media: Where were you when you wrote your first rhyme?
Skent Dukes: mannnnn honestly i dont even remember, i just remember hear the way other rappers put words n phrases together that just caught my attention in the beginning and when i figured out how ta do it BOOM!! SKENT was born!!

Starmusic Media: How did the whole Hushmoney movement come about?
Skent Dukes: Its really been on the hush fo a minute. It started with a Magazine then we just ran wit it!! Cj got it tatted on chest, i mean we just turned it all the way up!! We noticed that we people saw all together, Skent Cj and R.O.B, they would just show more luv!! Its been HUSHMONEY ever since!

Starmusic Media: Recently heard the Steady Watchin Single, What was the concept behind making the song?
Skent Dukes: I wanted to make something flashy but real at the same time! The lyrics express how you keep um Steady Watchin by just being yourself and not rapping about outlandish things you dont got! quick witted stuntin lines such as "like the man on my polo horse she jockin me"

Starmusic Media: From all the ups and downs that comes with progression, what has been your most memorable experience so far?
Skent Dukes: THE DAY A PROJECT RELEASES!!! I always remember the days when the product final hits the streets!! the reactions good and bad, the luv the hate! its the most memorable day and time of a artist career!! its a great way to find out if this is the game fo you!!

Starmusic Media: Who are some of the producers that you work with?
Skent Dukes: I work real close wit a up and coming producer in cleveland name "JP did this one" a very talented precise dude. I produce some of my own work!, a talented producer out of texas named young chill, yonny out of cleveland (produces for trina and lil wayne), and a my newest hit maker Brandon Bishop!

Starmusic Media: When its all said and done, how do you want to be remembered?
Skent Dukes: I guess that a be when im dead cuz imma always do music! and if thats the case I just wanna be remembered!

Starmusic Media: Just listening to your music it seems like you really put effort into your lyrics, Do you think that lyrics are making a comeback?
Skent Dukes: most definately!!! artist like Ludicris and lil wayne got they ears open! you need meat to keep the lions interested! Thats a quick secret imma give yo readers!! when good lyrics are involved you get repeat listens as a oppose to a song being heard and just liked cuz of the beat and hook

Starmusic Media: Tell us and Describe your next single?
Skent Dukes: Yall really caught me at good time!! its gon be between 3 songs!! "Big Boi", "Im that Nigga", and "HighSchool SweetHeart" so by the time your reading this one of them will be killin the streets!!! SKENT!!!
