Tuesday Totem Poll News

Been awhile since I gave an update.  All is well in music land.  All is well in family land.  I'm enjoying spending time with my kids every weekend and letting them be apart of the creation of our artists albums in the studio.  Its going to be "ONE CRAZY SUMMER" but well worth it.

We signed our contract with the all new teen club Stagez which will be opening in Mentor at the old Rock City on Memorial Day weekend.  We are going to feature a huge event once a month with performers and radio personalities.  In con-junction with 96.5 and 107.9 it looks to be a truly crazy summer for area teens to finally have a location to meet and hang out.  The grand opening weekend includes its middle school night on Friday May 27th at 6pm which will be hosted by Tropikana from Z107.9 and DJ Venom.   On Saturday May 28th at 7pm the high schoolers get there night with DJ Pana from 96.5 and live performances by Cleveland's own Aaron Lafette and Cali Miles.  For more information, please visit http://Stagez.net.  More details coming in and will be posted when ready.

We now have 2 artists songs being played on Z107.9, Danny Wells - Sick Of Love and Slim Jim - Set It Off.  3 times the charm now that Young Lows track The Comeback was approved, its just a matter of time before he becomes the third member from SMM to have a song on the radio.  Congrats to the bro's!

Slim Jims album recently released is getting amazing reviews from all over the world.  Downloads from 28 different countries and comments in different languages are overwhelming.  Goes to show it just wasn't a local cd, nor Cleveland, nor Ohio.  Its a global album.

On another note, we are only about a week away from Danny Wells sophomore album titled Reflection.  The release date and party will be a private function (our annual pig roast) on May 29th.  The final stages of his album are being recorded and mixed down by SMM's own executive producer David Shockey from Top Notch Studios.  A truly eccentric album with a variety of features including Nick Zuber, Young Low, Slim Jim, Cali Miles & Minus P.  This is definitely a cd you will have in your player for years to come.

Following up Danny Wells cd release we have Young Low coming straight in behind him with total "fiyah!"
The final stages is Lows album titled RipHead which is sure to blow your speakers sub woofers has a release date of June 11th.  Recorded and mixed down by David Shockey, Young Low wanted to come straight at the back talkers, drama queens and haters by letting them know there is a new top dog on the block and that nobody is going to get in his way of completely demolishing you if you decide to stand in his way.

Next up we have Top Notch Click's album set for release on July 4th.  A different kind of group with a different sound that isn't your typical hip-hop or rap group.  Coming with a sound that not only relates to everyone, but females especially.  A sound that is not boy band, but not gangster either.  Smooth flows and unique beats along with creative music videos is what sets these guys apart.

And last but not least, a mixtape by Johnny Mixxxx titled Sucka Free will close out the summer with a release date of August 18th.  Going back to the hip-hop sounds of the 90's with a little bit of funk and Motown added this will feature 3 memorable tracks, 2Pac Feat. Slim Jim - Like A Ho, Notorious B.I.G. Feat. Young Low - Make It Mine and Ludacris Feat. Danny Wells - Luxury Tax.  There will also be a few skits in between and an all guitar solo track from Cleveland's own Scotty V.  What a way to close out the summer!
