PETER BLVNCO INTERVIEW By Blair Watson

“Who is Blvnco?” is something that I asked myself while going through this 22yr old East Cleveland artists’ soundcloud. “Who is Blvnco?” was the title of one of the first tracks added to the soundcloud and is where I started my journey to learn more. As I listened to this new age artist kill beat after beat I became more intrigued. I sat down with Blvnco to get more in depth with whom he is and where his expedition as an upcoming artist is taking him.
Known for his crazy “steeze” as he calls it, Blvnco changed his name from Peter Parker to Peter Blvnco after he was continuously complimented on his original and pure swag. Often mistaken for a “Heights boy” Peter learned quickly that his uniqueness would make him stand out. Growing up in East Cleveland the odds always seemed to be against the talented teen but he never let that stop him. Before he discovered his interest in the music, young Blvnco was involved in various extracurricular activities. Ranging from martial arts to skateboarding with his crew, in his teen years Blvnco was acknowledged for his skills on the court as a star player and graduate of VASJ. He went on to play basketball at Mercyhurst College but his dream was short lived after tearing his ACL. Blvnco mentioned his change in career in the freestyle titled Swish, “Had hella hoop dreams I wanted to be like Mike, until I picked the pen and pad up and realized I was nice.”
After talking more with Peter it became quite evident that he is doing nothing else but perfecting his craft. His play on words makes it clear that the artist he calls his inspirations have played a major part in his learning experience. Blvnco stated he is encouraged by artist like Kendrick Lamar, Asap Rocky, Currensy, Joey Badass and Pharell Williams. His incredibly elastic flow and song writing abilities will do nothing but catch the ear of the avid hip hop heads. Peter has been working hand in hand with other artist of his crew, Creez Mob such as; Prodigal, Elo and Ghutty. Each artist has their own projects in the works but when collaborating they create a matchless sound. Blvnco states he is looking forward to working with other local artist such as the affiliates of Dope Kulture.
In the meantime Blvnco is working on finishing his first mixtape titled, “Trilluminati” hosted by Dj Ryan Wolf which will release in early summer of this year. The hipster states that everything about this tape is simply “Trill” it consists of music that can relate to any mood and any person. In addition to the music Peter and his business partner, Drew Bailey are continuously working on new looks for their clothing line. The Devious Divinity clothing line was released late 2012 and is filled with innovative fashions from both creative minds.
The future seems to be quite bright for Peter Blvnco, as he works to chase his dream as a new artist of 2013. The other members of Creez Mob Doyle, Drew, Jov, Shamont and Hector will work to begin building a bridge from Cleveland to Cali for the team. With the remarkably positive moral of the fresh artist it is inevitable that his consistent efforts will not go unnoticed.
